We are seeking a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant (TA) to support our academy’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision. As a key member of our team, you will create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and empowered. You’ll work closely with teachers to bring lessons to life, deliver targeted literacy and numeracy support, and promote the personal development and well-being of pupils with SEND, English as an Additional Language (EAL), or other additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with SEND.
- Assist in creating interactive and engaging learning experiences.
- Provide targeted support in literacy and numeracy.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Uphold safeguarding practices and promote diversity and inclusion.
Candidate Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Maths.
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, EAL, or other additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver targeted academic support and manage classroom behavior.
- A warm, child-centered approach with a commitment to safeguarding and diversity.
- Adaptable, reflective, and professional demeanor.
