The Role

Maplewood Canadian International School (MCIS) is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Middle & High School Math Teacher to join their Math Department in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student-centered learning, capable of fostering critical and creative thinking skills, and committed to academic excellence.

You will be working within a collaborative team of forward-thinking educators, helping students achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Math lessons aligned with the Alberta Education curriculum.
  • Use inquiry-based learning and student-centered approaches to enhance student understanding.
  • Implement standards-based grading and reporting for accurate student progress tracking.
  • Prepare students for success by identifying and closing learning gaps.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom that encourages collaboration.
  • Work with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school trips, and events.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a major in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Valid Teaching Credential/License from home country.
  • Experience teaching in a Canadian curriculum school (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Completion of a supervised practicum as part of teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of student-centered learning, inquiry-based strategies, and technology integration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting students’ growth.
